English indie pop band Daughter has only been around for a couple of years, but they’re already selling out shows, an impressive feat for a band so young. Elena Tonra formed Daughter in 2010, and the band eventually morphed into a trio when guitarist Igor Haefeli and drummer Remi Aguilella joined up when the three met at London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. They got some attention in 2011 with the release of The Wild Youth EP, but their most recent album, 2013’s If You Leave, is their best work yet. The album is a haunting, ethereal, beautiful record that incorporates Daughter’s signature dramatic flair, weaving folk music with experimental soundscapes.
They recently toured with Beirut, and they just stopped by KUTX for a great in-studio performance. Check out the audio from their set right here!
