Dallas native Harry Edohoukwa has had quite the 2019. From being named one of Austin Chronicle’s Must-See Artists at SXSW to headlining KUTX’s Love Lockdown, he’s become one of Austin’s premier artists in under a year. More exciting things are on the horizon, with his debut album, Fire on the Mountain, out later this month. The record takes a look at the mistakes made in a positive light, focusing on the lessons learned that encourage us to be excited about the present and the future moments to come. Raised on Jamaican smooth stylist Beres Hammond and Afro-reggae messenger Lucky Dube, Harry follows his mentors by using tuneful, personal deliveries to convey his purge of emotion and insight, whether it be hyped or brooding energy.
