Holiday Mountain‘s breed of dance pop is a seductive call to let loose.
Formed in 2011 out of the Berklee College of Music, the Austin-based three-piece is comprised of Laura Patiño on keyboard and vocals, Zander Kagle on drums, and Bradley Will on bass. Producing a tonally variegated concoction of pure pop melodies, their songs serve up an off-kilter darkness, peppered with touches of jazz and reggae. Their latest digital release, “You Be You Pt.1,” is a declarative listen driven by layered synths and heavy beats, echoing with calls to embrace your individuality, undoubtedly, while dancing away.
