Ian Moore at KUTX 6.20.13

Anyone who has heard Ian Moore play guitar knows one thing for sure: the dude can rock out. The guitarist and singer/songwriter, who grew up in Austin, is famous for his incendiary guitar skills, and has played with legends including The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, and ZZ Top. In fact, his career outside of Austin really took off when he joined Joe Ely on tour playing lead guitar. Moore was a teenage prodigy in Austin in the ‘90s, and he began performing in Austin clubs at age 16, having essentially grown up in legendary venues such as the Armadillo World Headquarters, Soap Creek Saloon, and Antone’s Nightclub. He has been releasing albums ever since, and his most recent is called “The First Third,” released in 2011.

If you want to catch him live and in person, Moore performs at The Continental Club on Friday, June 21st. He brought his genre-bending music live to our studios on June 20th, and you can check it out right here on KUTX!
