Jim Lauderdale might not be a household name, but chances are you’ve heard his songs. They’ve been covered by everyone from Elvis Costello to The Dixie Chicks and earned him a lifetime achievement award at the 2016 Americana Music Awards. Not to mention cowrites with a who’s who of American songwriters; Dr. Ralph Stanley, Buddy Miller, and Grateful Dead lyricist to name just a few. Lauderdale brought his guitar to Studio 1A to play a couple of songs off his upcoming album, From Another World, out June 21 on Yep Roc Records. He’ll back in town on Wednesday, August 7 for an intimate performance at The Cactus Cafe. Stream the session below!
