The singer of rock ‘n’ roll band Not in the Face, locally based musician Jonathan Terrell‘s solo work delivers reflective and dreamy alt-country. Terrell’s new album, Past the Lights of Town, is a venture that came together over the course of five years, following his move from sprawling East Texas to the busy city of Austin. Terrell’s mainly acoustic tracks carry the summer night warmth and create melancholy roots music that “defines the balance of separation, captivation and release.” Terrell is set to release the album in August and, as an added bonus, he recently shared a cover of Big Star’s “Thirteen” featuring Jazz Mills that is full of vocal harmonies.
