We were excited to welcome Kelly Willis back to the studio before she releases her new album, Back Being Blue. It’s her first solo work in over ten years and marks a return to the roots music she heard after moving to Austin in the late 80s. It’s a sound and style especially well suited to Willis’ crystal clear country soprano. Willis penned the majority of the songs on the new album herself but tapped friends like Rodney Crowell to lend their songwriting chops to a few.
