Khruangbin is a psychedelic rock trio from Houston that encapsulates the city’s global reach and ethnic diversity. Inspired by music from Thailand, India, and a plethora of other Asian countries, Khruangbin’s sound can be described as Thai surf rock and is adaptable to a variety of atmospheres. Any outdoor or indoor activity could be accompanied by their eclectic and psychedelic sound. Their name is the transliteration of “airplane” in Thai, and their music fits the bill. With a USA surf-rock backing, they use Middle and Southeast Asian influences to take listeners on a worldwide trip. Their most recent album, Con Todo El Mundo, was released in January and furthers the international scope of Khruangbin’s music. They stopped by Studio 1A, so sit back, relax, and listen to their session below!
