Few artists embody the 90s music scene more than Matthew Sweet. Moving to the fertile breeding grounds of Athens, Georgia as a college student in the 80s, Sweet eventually helped define the power pop and alt-rock genres with the help of other Athens bands like REM. Now in his fourth decade as a recording artist, Matthew Sweet continues to pursue the power-pop sound that defined his earlier recordings only now with decades of songwriting and touring experience. His newest album, Tomorrow Forever, just hit the shelves last month and Matthew Sweet is currently on an extensive tour with the new music. Matthew Sweet made time to drop by Studio 1A during a two night stop here in Austin. Take a listen to the session in the player at the bottom of the post!
