Mayeux and Broussard – 8.11.16

Well, Tate Mayeux and Brian Broussard are a great combo who piece together your favorite brand of hippie country and some swampy jams. The songwriting duo were both raised in Texas, and the pair seem to play off each other well with different perspectives, songs and voices in the band. Mayeux’s gritty voice still soothes with mellow reflections and Broussard brings a bit of the dirty grooves with a bit of gee-tar shredding.

Their latest record, High Times and Good Rhymes, was recorded over at Cedar Creek Studios and permeates with their “high times” philosophies. It spans across the cosmic & insightful “Stoned and Broke Down”, to a more bluegrass-based “A Long Time Since You” and to the down-to-earth country of “One Way to Heaven”. The record is a culmination of the time the band has spent gigging and working, along with their pure songwriting talent & collaborative energy. It’s definitely worth a good spin or two.

Mayeux and Broussard will be performing at the 26th Annual Austin Chronicle Hot Sauce Festival on Sunday, August 21st alongside other acts like Joe King Carrasco, A. Sinclair, Bombasta and others. Enjoy their Studio 1A performance in the links below!
