Over the past ten years, Australia has become one of the main exporters of indie rock to U.S. radio. With only an EP and LP to their name, Sydney based Middle Kids are relative newcomers to the scene but didn’t waste any time in capturing fans in the U.S. with powerful live performances including one of KUTX’s early morning broadcasts during SXSW 2018. Like many of their Australian cohorts, Middle Kids manage to write deeply personal pop songs by camouflaging serious subject matter with infectious hooks and grin-inducing turns of phrase. The band’s recent performance in Studio 1A only reinforced our admiration for their music. Listen in the player at the bottom and find them online at the links below.
