When you hear the name Mike Doughty, you probably think of 90s alt-rock band Soul Coughing, but despite founding the group, Doughty has since tried to distance himself from Soul Coughing’s sound to develop his own style. While Doughty’s roots certainly lie in alternative rock, he often incorporates hip-hop and EDM elements into his tracks to differentiate his sound from other rock songwriters.
