Singer-songwriter Oliver Rajamani isn’t content with playing any one genre of music. Nor is he content blending genres that other artists are content with blending. It’s not that simple for him. Rajamani was raised on a blend of traditional Tamil, Indian, and Roma/Gypsy music, along with the work of Johnny Cash, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley among others. This complex blend of genres weaves its way into his own music, which he describes as “Texas Indian Gypsy Flamenco.” It’s a wonderful sound, and wholly unique to Rajamani.
Oliver Rajamani recently played live on KUTX. Check out the session right here!
