Borris, County Carlow native, Pat Byrne, won Ireland’s “The Voice” in 2012. He subsequently landed a deal with Universal Ireland and released his debut album, “All or Nothing”, the same year. After taking a recent liking to Austin, he decided to plant himself here with a 3-year visa and try his luck in the capital of Texas, and we are excited to embrace him. Byrne’s influences early on were the likes of Elvis and Johnny Cash, something that you might be able to see coming through his music. With the way he blends genres and influences, it seems as if Byrne was meant to land in Texas all along. His latest album, “Rituals”, was released in November of last year, and we can’t get enough of it. Oh, and did we mention, he’s Austin 360’s April Artist of the Month? Needless to say, we were lucky to get to host him in Studio 1A. Scroll down for the full set and interview!
