Phoebe Hunt @ KUTX 04.01.2015

Texan singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Phoebe Hunt‘s songs emanate with sincerity and a genuine love of music.

Switching from country, to include elements of folk, jazz, blues, and pop with ease, Phoebe Hunt, a former member of the Belleville Outfit, creates soulful tunes anchored by her ever-present violin and flowing jazzy vocals. While her last album Walk With Me, featuring pianist Conor Forsyth, demonstrated her versatility by gliding across genres, her latest commissioned live project, “Phoebe Hunt Sings the New American Songbook,” will see Hunt performing and re-imagining classics by George Gerschwin, Peggy Lee, and Dinah Washington for two nights in April. Hunt has also initiated the One Music Village Project, which promotes global unity by bringing together teen musicians from across the world.

You can watch Phoebe Hunt performing live on April 3rd at the Cactus Cafe and you can stream her music, alongside cellist Rushad Eggleston, right here on KUTX.
