After performing together at Shilah Morrow’s Sin City SXSW showcase in 2011, Lonnie Trevino Jr. of Deadman, Phil Hurley of Stonehoney, Josh Zee of Mother Truckers, and Phil Bass of Monte Montgomery decided to jam together during a couple of happy hour gigs at the Saxon Pub and later formed The South Austin Moonlighters (SAM). On “Burn& Shine,” Austin’s own SAM takes you for a ride through all of their favorite music genres of the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s. With all four vegetarian musicians contributing songs and lead vocals, SAM effortlessly transitions from power pop to bluesy guitar to soul.
Don’t miss South Austin Moonlighters live at KUTX on Monday, November 10th, or catch SAM at their old stomping grounds, Saxon Pub, on November 15th.
