Singer-songwriter Steve Forbert has been delivering heartfelt pop since the late 1970’s.
While Forbert says that his 1980 hit “Romeo’s Tune” off his sophomore album may have “given him a career,” over the years he has since been known for his poetic lyricism, fusing roots rock, pop, and unfiltered heartache within his songs. Continuously releasing music, Forbert has put out 14 albums to date, including a Grammy-nominated tribute to Jimmie Rodgers. His last release was 2012’s Over With You featuring Ben Sollee and Ben Harper, a flowing collection of pop melodies with Forbert’s crackling voice delivering weight and truth over his sparsely produced tunes.
