After forty years and thirty-seven highly acclaimed records, four books of essays, songs, and art in galleries around the globe, – and five appearances on the David Letterman TV show, Tom’s back in Texas with a Texas record, termed by dozens of publications as the best of his career. His latest recording of original compositions is October in the Railroad Earth, and Russell describes the sound as: “Jack Kerouac meets Johnny Cash in Bakersfield.” It was recorded at Congress house studio in Austin. Mark Hallman co-produced with Russell. Tom plays the Cactus Cafe Thursday, May 16 but you can listen to his Studio 1A session at any time in the players below!
