Working remotely may seem difficult for most artists, but when it came to creating Turnover‘s fourth full-length album Altogether, working away from one another allowed renewed creative freedom for the group. Lead frontman Austin Getz mentions, “Instead of making things more difficult, being far apart helped us learn to appreciate each other even more. As a band, we’re closer now than we’ve ever been before.” The togetherness that arose from the members’ individual experience not only has resulted in their most cohesive work to date, but most adventurous as well. The quintet adds pop sensibilities to their trademark indie grit, imbuing elements of funk, jazz, lounge and disco, creating infectious hooks that can’t get out of your head.

The Virginia natives played some songs off of “Altogether” and chatted with KUTX host Laurie Gallardo about their latest album and extensive national tour with Men I Trust. Check out the live performance below!
