Violent Femmes 5.9.19

Even if you think you’ve never really listened to the Violent Femmes before, you probably have. They’re one of those bands whose classic punky songs, including 1981’s “Blister in the Sun,” “Add It Up,” and “Gone Daddy Gone” have had their fair share of radio play over the years and nestled themselves comfortably into the collective consciousness. Debuting their first album in 1981, and charting on Billboard for the first time in the 90’s, Violent Femmes are an American cult classic. Luckily, the  iconic post-punk group is still touring and sounding as tight as ever with new tracks true to their roots. Keep an eye out for their next release, “Hotel Last Resort,” out July 26th on [PIAS] records. The guys in the Violent Femmes stopped by Studio 1A for a live performance, complete with tracks from the new album and a live-audience sing-a-long that you can check out in the player below.
