Warren Hood @ KUTX 12.16.15

When Warren Hood started playing fiddle at the age of eleven, he probably never thought he’d be referred to as a”terrific songwriter and singer”…let alone by Lyle Lovett.

The son of Austin, TX music legend, Champ Hood, Warren has built up his repertoire as an accomplished multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter. After attending Berklee School of Music (where he was recipient of the prestigious String Achievement Award) Hood has since gone on to win numerous awards for string virtuosity and has been recognized three times as String Player of the Year in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll.  Hood has toured and performed with The WaybacksHayes CarllLyle LovettJoan Osborne, Emmylou Harris, Ben Kweller, Little Feet, Elvis Costello, and Alejandro Escovedo.

In June 2013 Hood released The Warren Hood Band, his debut full-length album (which was produced by Charlie Sexton). On top of his free weekly ABGB residency, Hood is currently working on a new record, scheduled for release in late 2016.

You can catch Warren Hood on Tuesday, December 22nd at the Armadillo Christmas Bazaar and you can stream him here at KUTX!
