Farah Siraj: “Min Ghairak”

All this week, the Song of the Day features artists playing at this weekend’s Wobeon Fest–the Austin world music festival taking over Ironwood Hall on Saturday.

Jordan’s Farah Siraj is her country’s musical ambassador, and it’s easy to hear why. Though she’s attuned to Jordanian musical traditions, Siraj often sings in Spanish and incorporates both flamenco and bossa nova into her songs. It’s a global approach, and she’s performed all across the globe, including at the United Nations, Nobel Prize Hall, and for countless heads-of-state and dignitaries. Today’s song of the day is a pining ballad about long distance love called “Min Ghairak,” or “Without You.”

Catch Farah Siraj at Wobeon Fest starting at 7 p.m. on the main stage.
