George Clinton to Release New Album on Flying Lotus’s Brainfeeder

George Clinton went on L.A.’s NPR affiliate KCRW earlier this week to announce his first album in almost a decade. The album will be released sometime next year on Flying Lotus’s record label Brainfeeder. Clinton has spent the last few years collaborating with artists like Fly Lo, Thundercat, Snoop Dogg, and appearing on Kendrick Lamar’s 2015 album To Pimp a Butterfly while, of course, touring and performing with his groups Parliament and Funkadelic. When asked what fans could expect from his new album, Clinton responded by saying, “As always, we expect to tear the roof off the sucker.”

The final release is the group’s BBC Sessions, which will include a previously lost session that included the only performance of a song dubbed, “Sunshine Woman,” making the tune the final previously unheard complete Zeppelin song to receive an official release.
