The Austin Music Minute is supported by Howler Brothers, an Austin-based designer of creative outdoor apparel since 2011, and by Planet K, Austin’s local hemp emporium since 1990.
Maybe adding a synth or two to an otherwise folk-rooted style might shake things up. At least Buck Meek gave it some consideration for his fourth solo LP, The Mirror. The guitarist for Big Thief was inspired by a conversation he had with Big Thief bandmate and producer James Krivchenia about adding more electronic arrangements to his music. Would it drastically change his style? While there are a few low-key modular layers in the mix, The Mirror reflects the beautiful timelessness that Meek’s loved for.
Meek returns to Austin for a performance tonight at 29th Street Ballroom. And he also performs with LA rock-folk outfit Kisser in tonight’s line-up. Doors at 7 p.m.
