The Warplanes refer to Austin as the “Texas music mecca,” which is where most of the band met in early 2010 after moving here from Houston. They’re a hidden gem in the local scene, fusing together a collage of rock with the blues, folk and especially psychedelic sounds that influence their style.
Meanwhile, make sure to check out The Warplanes when they play Tuesday night at the Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe. The bill includes alt.-rock and blues band Forty Dead Men, Americana artist Louise Monroe, and acoustic duo Javelina. Get there after 9 p.m.
