Caamp’s Copper Changes Color explores life’s constant metamorphosis, every shape, hue and energy…

AMM May 29 2025

Caamp tonight at Moody Amphitheater, with Blind Pilot.

Ohio folk-rockers Caamp release their new album Copper Changes Color on June 6 via independent label Mom + Pop. Recording it was an adventure, spanning a two-year period at various studios across the country, including a Texas connection through Sonic Ranch. But the extended time gave the band an opportunity for deeper self-examination.

The title presents copper as a metaphor for life’s never-ending changes – the versatility, various shades and malleability of each experience. Songwriter/vocalist Taylor Meier seemed to be noticing copper everywhere, and the older it was, the more each imperfection on it stood out. But that was part of its beauty and character.

Caamp performs tonight at Moody Amphitheater at Waterloo Park. Doors at 6 p.m. Portland, OR folk outfit Blind Pilot opens the show.
