There was no turning back the day Amanda Cevallos‘ mother found a $40 guitar for her daughter at a thrift store. It was the beginning of something big for the native Houstonian, and now, since relocating to Austin plus two albums and an EP later, she holds the torch up higher than ever on her album Got Me Where You Want Me, an open love letter to old-school – that is to say, real – country music.
A little KUTX reminder for you: Cevallos will be our featured guest artist at The Wine Down at 3Ten on June 29th. However, it would also be very cool to see Cevallos at her show tonight at The White Horse, 500 Comal. Perfect place and the right atmos, with The Love Leighs starting out the night at 8 p.m., followed by Cevallos at 10 p.m., then Outskirts at midnight. Recommended.
