Levitation knocks it out of the park once again with outstanding line-ups all weekend long.
Decisions to be made. But it’s tough when it comes to picking who to see at Levitation. The local four-day music and visual art festival offers an impressively curated mix of touring and local artists performing at various Austin venues. Even perusing past line-ups will make your head spin. For now, let’s focus on this weekend’s adventures with a few AMM recs:
Tonight includes the highly-anticipated Jesus Lizard show, with Dry Cleaning and legendary Leeds post-punk outfit Gang of Four, at the Far Out Lounge and Stage; LA-based composer/arranger/producer Adrian Younge performs at Antone’s; The Chameleons and AMM fave The March Violets at Elysium on Red River; Mexico City-based artist Girl Ultra and NYC trio FCUKERS tear up Empire Control Room; and Jonathan Pierce brings The Drums to Mohawk on a bill featuring LA artist Valentine Zapata‘s awesome project Yungatita.
Tomorrow night, Tycho, longtime AMM fave Washed Out (thank you, Soundfounder) and Hania Rani perform at Far Out Lounge and Stage; Destroy Boys is on a sick line-up including Die Spitz at Mohawk; and Paris post-punks Rendez Vous share a bill with Austin’s Night Drive at Elysium.
Sunday fun day features Slowdive at Far Out Lounge and Stage; Nilufer Yanya (featured on today’s AMM) at Mohawk; The Sword and Pentagram at Stubb’s with Rickshaw Billie’s Burger Patrol and The Well; and Illuminati Hotties, Hello Mary, and Farmer’s Wife at The Parish.
These aren’t all the shows. Check out Levitation’s website for the entire line-up, ticket info and set times.
