Who: Music brings many of us together, and that’s exactly how Western Youth guitarists/vocalists Matthew Gregg and Taylor Williams started their band in 2011 – over a mutual love for Americana, rock and country, and every combination thereof. Their 2013 debut EP Leaving the Station covers all those bases and then some, and fans can expect more from the Austin-based quintet on a new album set for release later this year.

What: The Austin Music Minute digs a good residency, including the short-term ones. Western Youth has a mini-residency this month you need to check out.

When and where: See them tonight, and next Wednesday night, at Lambert’s, 401 W. 2nd St. Tonight, they take over the room with songwriter Graham Weber‘s project, So Long, Problems, who are, most unfortunately, doing their final performance tonight, according to WY. Next week, Blynd Birds will join the bill. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. both nights. So recommended.
