Atlas Maior’s music is a meeting place between a lot of different cultures and sounds. The Austin band draws from Middle Eastern, Latin American, and American jazz traditions with ease. The group also tours the world, recently wrapping up a trek through Spain and Morocco that found the band playing with some of their musical influences. Atlas Maior also just released Hadal, its first vinyl offering, which collects recent recordings as well a few remixes.
This week on My KUTX, oud player Josh Peters and saxophonist Joshua Thomson return as our guest DJs. They play an hour of music inspired by their recent journeys. Listen to My KUTX on Saturday, July 6 at 6 p.m. or anytime right here.
