My KUTX: Bobby Patterson

From June 30 to July 22, Antone’s is blowing out candles for its 42nd birthday with a series of blues blowouts featuring a lot of familiar faces. Naturally, Bobby Patterson emcees a lot of the shows (and plays with Miss Lavelle White for her birthday bash on Sunday, July 9). The Dallas native has worked every angle across four decades: singer, songwriter, producer, label owner, and even DJ.  He’s a consummate showman, blowing up the stage or airwaves with an encyclopedic knowledge of soul music.

This week on My KUTX, we’re running back Patterson’s guest DJ set. It’s one of our most popular episodes, simply because of his platter-spinning, mic-shredding genius. Tune in on Saturday, July 8 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
