Gus Baldwin and The Sketch

My KUTX // March 15th, 2025

Remember when “lo-fi” meant something? Gus Baldwin and The Sketch sure do. Yeah, the four members behind our March 2025 Artist of the Month clearly revere trendsetters of decades past, considering the variety of influences evident on their eponymous debut LP The Sketch.

And after much band-wide debate over specific song picks, fronting singer-guitarist Gus Baldwin and drummer Trey Gutierrez stopped by the KUTX studios to paint a picture of the various hippies, rockers, and nonconformists that have shaped The Sketch’s own oddball, distortion-heavy style through an awesome, hour-long nostalgia trip.
