Looking back at iconic live photos of Earth Wind & Fire, Parliament-Funkadelic, The Jackson Five, and their many genre contemporaries, it’s easy to see why we so often think of Funk music as a stage-filling affair. But with the magic of modern technology, it turns out that just one talented individual is all it really takes to fire up the dance floor.
Enter: Henry Roland – better known as Henry Invisible. When this multi-instrumentalist/DJ/producer extraordinaire isn’t cooking up his own funk masterpieces, he’s improving on the fine art of musical mixology – something he puts on display every Wednesday night at Far Out Lounge for his Free Funk Dance Party residency. And in that spirit, Henry stopped by the KUTX studios to bless our airwaves with an impressive pre-mixed hour of foot-movin’ grooves.
