Mrs. Glass @ KUTX 06.16.2015

Austin-based trio Mrs. Glass pierces through the rib cage with a yearning wail.

After finding his way to Austin from New Orleans, frontman Jordan Webster met up with percussionist Ian Fry and bassist Ivan Evangelista at Hole in the Wall, right across the street from our studios, and they have been performing around town regularly ever since. Mrs. Glass is a wicked concoction of delta blues and rock ‘n’ roll, a balance between dizzying skill and sheer power. While 2013’s electrified debut added occasional dashes of light with a sprinkling of pop and wit, Webster’s baritone demanded attention, carrying a crushing weight. The band’s sophomore offering, Happy Every Day, follows with the same gripping intensity, serving up a selection of tracks with churning guitars turned up high and howling declarations about brunch and sugary snacks.

You can catch Mrs. Glass’ live performance at their Thursday night residency at the Blackheart and you can stream their music right here on KUTX.
