Songwriter and performer Bobby Whitlock is probably best known for his time in the legendary blues rock band Derek and the Dominos, where he shared both songwriting duties and the stage with Eric Clapton. The first and only Derek and the Dominos album, Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs, has been a defining factor in Whitlock’s career, even today. It’s hard not to be associated with such an epic accomplishment, but Bobby Whitlock’s more recent efforts are still incredible. Now he performs and records both solo and with his wife, CoCo Carmel. Their latest release, Esoteric, came out last March.
