Dale Watson is something of a country music outlaw, and since the beginning of his career in 1995, he has been outspoken about his disdain forthe Nashville commercial brand of country music. Watson is a lover of old-style honky-tonk and authentic country, and his music reflects just that. He was inducted into the Austin Music Hall of Fame, and gained a reverential following throughout his long career, which includes about 20 albums. His newest album, El Rancho Azul, is his best-received album to date, and is influenced by the cast of drinkers, dancers, and loners he encounters at the dance halls where he plays. His long-time band The Lonestars are featured on the album, as well.
The music maverick rolled into our studio on Tuesday, October 15 for a live performance, and you can take a listen to it right here! Dake Watson also plays at the Dia De Los Muertos Festival at Fiesta Gardens on October 19.
