Joseph Arthur has been cranking out critically-acclaimed music for almost two decades, and his newest album is called “The Ballad of Boogie Christ.” The psychedelic soul record, which was about five years in the making, centers around a fictionalized character loosely based on Arthur’s journey. It is a bit of a grander production than many of his other albums, featuring horns and soul singers. Not only is he a Grammy-winning musician, but he is also an acclaimed painter and designer, and he designed all artwork on the album sleeves his entire discography. Since being discovered and signed by Peter Gabriel in the mid-90’s, Arthur’s rich career has been long and prolific.
He brought his experimental-folk music to our studio on Saturday, June 22, and you can catch his performance right here!
