Justin Townes Earle has made a name for himself as a contemporary singer-songwriter, all the while adding to the Earle legacy.
Born in Nashville to country rock renegade Steve Earle, Justin Townes Earle owes his middle name to his godfather, Townes Van Zandt. Although Earle spent some of his early career playing guitar and keyboard for his father’s backing band The Dukes, in more recent years he has come to develop a hybrid of folk, blues, and country as a solo artist. Since the release of his first solo album in 2007, Earle has steadily worked his way up the US Indie, Rock, and Folk charts and garnering critical acclaim with each subsequent release.
Earlier this year Earle released his fifth album Single Mothers, a contemporary exploration of the Americana genre, which was recorded live with his four-piece touring band. Earle has been touring in promotion of Single Mothers, and his next stop is the Live Music Capital. You can catch Justin Townes Earle on Tuesday, November 11th at Emo’s or stream him right here at KUTX!
