Megafauna 6.8.16

Woah… Austin’s very own Megafauna is back. Led by the wonderful Dani Neff, this four piece rock quartet is ready to release their new record, Welcome Home, full of sensational grungy-psychedelic textures. These rock & rollers take you through the motions of hard-riffing basement rock to trippy psych interludes and back to steady grooves. Neff’s beautiful & soft vocals perfectly contrast the Cobain/Zeppelin-inspired… shredding.  Through prog-inspired movements, Megafauna can shift emotion & pace in creative, curious, yet perfectly logical ways. Their music is hard to put a finger on, but it’s powerful, sensitive and completely awesome. It’s almost as if the family tree has Uncle King Crimson, Auntie Nirvana, Grandmami Broken Social Scene and Cousin King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. I guess we all have crazy families.

Megafauna will be releasing Welcome Home, which they recorded with the the help of Bright Light Social Hour, this Saturday, July 11th. They will rock out the Empire that very same night with a completely stacked lineup including: Migrant Kids, Blockhead, Young Tongue, The Warplanes, and many others. For now, catch a sneak peak of what the band has been up to with their in-studio performance over here at KUTX’s Studio 1A.
