Name Sayers definitely march to their own beat. Frontman and chief songwriter Devin James Fry readily admits to finding inspiration in some interesting places, like having sex during a new moon. The band’s new album, Mantles, follows in those eccentric footsteps with Fry’s unnervingly dark storytelling woven among brooding organs and guitar reverb. You get the sense Fry is constantly searching for the perfect sound to help convey the emotion in his stories. Grab the session from Studio 1A at the bottom of the post before the new album drops Friday, May 26.
