Crowded rock outfit Tal National are known as Niger’s most popular band.
Including members from all of Niger’s major ethnic groups, Tal National create energetic rock & roll in a variety of languages and are notorious for their bombastic and lengthy live shows, playing up to five-hour sets at a time. Following the success of their third album and first international release Kaani, an upbeat and complex fusion of Saharan and West African sounds, the group has just released their new album Zoy Zoy. “A mix of traditionals and originals,” the album plays like an intricate web of masterful instrumentation, driving rhythms, dizzying guitar-work, and relentless grooves.
