Weaves, an indie pop band from Toronto, Canada, stopped by Studio 1A to play a few songs off their new album, Wide Open. The eccentric album varies from melodic pop to harsh punk rock – every song bursting with emotion. Front woman Jasmyn Burke said that traveling the world and meeting new people helped to develop the band’s chemistry and influenced the writing for the new album. Weaves played a show on Feb 16 at Sidewinder with Palehound, who they are touring with through March. Listen to the full session with interviews below.
