This SXSW, KUTX and 8 other public radio stations from around the country are teaming up with VuHaus to bring you the Public radio Day Stage featuring Hinds, Chvrches, and Lucius. The website, as well as all nine participating radio stations, including Austin’s KUTX, will live stream and broadcast all six hours of incredible performances on Friday, March 18th.
The VuHaus stage isn’t the only tasty bite of public radio-centric SXSW news. This morning NPR released the lineup for their showcase as well. In perfect public radio fashion, the showcase sports one of the most diverse lineups of the entire festival, featuring rapper Vince Staples, and Latino band Chicano Batman, country artist Margo Price, and the one-and-only Charles Bradley. The NPR showcase is the opener for the first night of SXSW Music on March 16th at Stubb’s, but NPR Music will be posting each performance shortly after.
Last night, Twine Time lovers from all over the city and surrounding areas came out to the new Antone’s to celebrate Paul Ray. As guests filled the venue to eagerly display their love, they were greeted with choice voice breaks from the man himself, and sets by W.C. Clarke, Charlie Sexton, and Gary Clark Jr. were made entirely of Twine Time favorites, keeping the night at a high level of energy and love. The highlight of the evening was its conclusion: a 10-minute jam of the Twine Time theme.
