Like a lot of people, when I first moved to Austin, I got really into Doug Sahm. He’s still one of my personal favorites: there’s something about his music that just sounds like Austin. I think Crooks have that same vibe. They combine country, conjunto, and rock so that nobody is left without a dance partner. Crooks are the KUTX Artist of the Month: download a free song here and find out why they’re one of the best live bands here. Crooks’ Josh Mazour and Ryan Goebel are also the guest DJs this week on My KUTX. Listen below their playlist.
