What better band to celebrate Halloween than White Ghost Shivers? The Austin group skews to the darker, bawdier end of jazz, blues, and ragtime. Their own description of their live show is perfect: “a smorgasbord of Cab Calloway, circus sideshow, KISS, cabaret, Hee Haw and Robert Johnson served up at Andy Kaufman’s bat-mitzvah.” Tonight, White Ghost Shivers holds its 12th Annual Halloween Ball at the White Horse, starting at 9 p.m. And before they take the stage, guitarist and singer Jeremy Slemenda–a.k.a. “Smoke Break”–is our guest DJ, spinning some of his and White Ghost Shivers’ favorite Halloween songs.
