Austin is a melting pot of music, and trio Steel Betty fully embraces their hometown’s eclectic culture with their mix of bluegrass, folk, blues, and classic country. Self-described on Facebook as a band with “giddy high harmonies and funky bass solos for humans who like honey butter biscuits”, the trio lives up to their bio on their latest EP, New Age, Old Time. This body of work reveals the band’s traditional sound with an infectious hooks that are strung together with an air of altruism that is food for the soul, leaving listeners ready for their debut album, So Darn Lonesome.
The Austin natives showed us what’s in store for their debut album ahead of their release show at the Cactus Cafe on September 14th. Listen to the live performance below.
