Hand Habits “Something Wrong”

Every Friday on Left of the Dial 7-11pm, Music Director Rick McNulty shares the best thing he heard that week.

There is something euphoric to me about entering [the] void with intention. . .”
-Meg Duffy a.k.a. Hand Habits

Hand Habits is the solo project of Los Angeles based studio musician Meg Duffy. Like a 21st century version of the Wrecking Crew or the Funk Brothers, Duffy’s contributions to the indie rock are immense but inconspicuous.

As a studio musician they’ve recorded with Weyes Blood, Sasami, William Tyler, Perfume Genius, Sylvan Esso, as well as the War On Drugs on their Grammy-winning A Deeper Understanding.

Duffy’s solo moniker Hand Habits just announced a new record called Sugar the Bruise, due to release June 16th.

FOLLOW HAND HABITS

“Meg Duffy, aka Hand Habits, has played guitar for Weyes Blood, The War on Drugs, Sasami, and a member of Kevin Morby’s band for several years. Meg uses the guitar on their new single as more of a vibe than a billy club and layers the song with some spooky harmonies. If you’re longing to take a friendship to another level, this song is for you.
