In 2023, My KUTX went places it’s never gone before. We experimented with episodes recorded in front of live audiences, including one of my favorites I’ve ever done: the gloriously messy guest DJ set from Austin garage rock weirdos Being Dead. I sat down with film industry heavy hitters, mixed it up with nationally-acclaimed chefs, discovered indie rock deep cuts from the voice of Austin FC, profiled two very different record labels with Austin roots, and spotlighted the people helping diversify the world of audio engineering. This year, I also hit 500 My KUTX episodes I’ve produced. It’s been a wild ride.
