In 2022, our music culture shakily came back to life. Touring bands felt the pinch of inflation, crowds are still getting used to going to shows again, and the dreaded phrase “supply chain issues” feels like a weird meme at this point. But our Austin music scene seemed to roar back, hell bent on making up for lost time.
This year’s My KUTX slate reflected all this pent-up creativity. Our guest DJs included experimental electronic artists, UT professors and podcast hosts, Irish punk rock upstarts, and plenty of Austin favorites. Just like in past years, we’re celebrating New Year’s Day with a My KUTX marathon. Each hour, a different guest DJ will spin a hand-picked set of their favorite songs.
